And then there is Model 9. But there is something unclear with that. Update later.

Now, the thing with Model 9 is: Mr. Schubell sent me a picture that looked VERY much like Nanna Ditzels Oda chair. So if you google the Oda chair, you will find at least two variations. One has a bump or sort of cushion at the top, on doesnt. Flemming Schubell used to work at the company, he drew an outline of the chair and he was pretty sure that it is the one without the cushion. But they could not tell for sure. So all we can say for now is: Upholstered recliner with frame in plywood-covered wooden frame and steel tube at edge. Interior teak armrests.  Production period: 1950s-60s.

Design: Arnold Madsen

And it must have looked very much like this.

Apologies in advance;

I don't want to steal Herrinbone's thunder!!!

BUT....during the initial research with regard to Ponyboy's chair (Recently acquired? thread;08/05/2019)... I found this image of an original advert.

Leif mentioned, in that thread, that he " would really like to see a vintage document that says Madsen and Schubell." (posted 13/05/2019)

Source; Loppefund. wordpress.com

From 1954.

Lexi.

It seems more appropriate to post any additional info re Madsen and Schubell here, otherwise we are popping between 3 different threads.

Haha, no thunder stealing here, Lexi. Whatever helps is good. I will post sketches of the two missing chairs. Maybe a task for you, because you are a way better detective than I am.

WOW! Thanks for sharing all of this, super interesting information. By the looks of it the chair I posted before looks closest to Model 20? Mine has a locking mechanism that has 8 positions and is made from Afromosia.

Yes, ponyboy, it is model 20. And the given information makes me think, that it was probably made by Vik and Blindheim. Bovenkamp produced it without the reclining function, and Madsen and Schubell probably would not have used Afrormosia. That being said, Mats Linder has a V&B catalogue on his site. It‘s from the early 50s. Model 20 is not in there, and they never have Afrormosia as an option for any chair. One should probably look out for a later catalogue.

@herringbone; I have searched high and low for the Model 12 chair; nothing so far.There were an awful lot of armchairs with teak arms being made back then ! Without further details /sketches I fear it will be nigh impossible to find that chair. You did very well to find the similarity of Model 9 with Nana Ditzels "ODA" chair. 👍

I did however find another chair with the MS leather label sewn into the upholstery. 1970's or possibly later,so probably by MS furniture ( Ib Madsen era ?)

A leather chair with arms ( stitching detail very similar to the Model 75). Tilt and turn mechanism which can be locked into position.

Mr. Schubell may not have mentioned this chair as, by that stage the family were possibly not involved in MS furniture.

Thought I would add images of this chair for reference purposes.

Lexi, I think the triangular shape of the teak panel is something special.  I have only found one chair with arms like that by now, and it was not the right one. I also had hoped that Vik and Blindheim produced the chairs, but I cannot find a catalogue from the late 50s, early 60s. But thanks for looking anyway. The swivel chair is a nice find. It might be a variation, and Mr. Schubell was probably not too enthusiastic about that period. 😀

As you say ; triangular "paws" as they are called are more unusual. If only we had a sketch of the side of the chair to help determine if the arm is curved out past the sides of the chair or the complete side has that triangular shape , if you get my drift! I will continue to keep looking.

@herringbone

 Decided to go back through all the posts on the 3 threads regarding this topic, in particular @wesemael's posts/links.

Hiding in plain sight.Images from 2 of his links. I can't read the text on the Dansk Still catalogue ( it gets even more blurred when you enlarge image; maybe I need to get new glasses 🧐 ) but given the images are perhaps  from the same catalogue does it read Madsen en Schubell as designers?

1st image possibly Model 12?

Lexi.
