@lexi @herringbone Found this Bovenkamp signed/stamped/marked on MP frame as Mette but different seat/back
@wesemael Interesting! So just like with model 4/5/6 they used different seat/back arrangements with the wooden frames. I wonder if they did this from the beginning or only when their sales started to go down. But I like it this way. It's a nice chair!

You all are just amazing.
There, I said it.
We don't see a lot of these on this side of the pond, but your effort is appreciated nonetheless. Thank you!
I recently noticed another case of, let’s say, furniture makers and designers being inspired by Madsen and Schubell. Have you ever seen the Swoon chair made by Fredericia these days? Kinda looks like Britta and Dorthe, doesn’t it?

what about those two ? Attributed to Hans Olsen 😉
@dustdevil Thanks, man. Yeah, that’s an interesting ad. It shows MS8 which differs from MS6 in that was a knockdown construction. It was advertised in Denmark but only produced and sold in and from the Netherlands. The address given is also peculiar, it was only used for a very short period after Madsen and Schubell split (as far as I remember). So, I’ve seen it before but nice to have it here.

@leif-ericson You’re right but it’s difficult. I‘ve spoken to both families a lot and many designs from the Bovenkamp era are unbeknownst to all of them. Which is odd. Also there are some open questions about early models and model numbers. And later, in the 70s, Ib Madsen hired external designers and they drew pretty curious (or ugly) furniture which he unsuccessfully sold under the MS brand. Arnold, Ib and Henry have long been dead. The last surviving journeyman from the old times died two years ago. Thus a complete, comprehensive and flawless guide is almost impossible to make.

We might have some unknown or very lesser known Madsen & Schubell models in the Vik & Blindheim catalog that Mats Linder posted. Going by the Clam example we know that the photos Vik and Blindheim used are likely or maybe always actually M&S production from Denmark and therefore we may expect to see Arnold’s unusual Unika Væv upholstery choices on them.
