I thought Heath's thread on authenticity was worthwhile. It was an interesting question.
But you seem to have more fun randomly torching information seekers. Can't say I don't share some of your frustration along those lines. As I SO enjoyed Sofia's contributions. I appreciated that you shared your distain for her rant. So I guess we all cherry pick what we want to get upset with, and when.
Its only a thread though, its not like anybody is twisting your arm to keep looking at the train wreck, if that is what you think it is. One thing I have learned as a teacher is that everybody is on a different place on the learning curve, and it takes a huge amount of patience to deal with the repetition. But we can't simply assume that everybody is in the same ship as it leaves the shore. There will always be new people asking the same questions.

I enjoy your humorous rants. I wish you would torch newbies more frequently, so I would be better able to resist my own desires to do the same.
You say this forum is not what it used to be.
Its funny, but I feel the same way about teaching beginning drawing. Too many iPods and short attention spans. Still, there are always some great students that are worth weeding through all of the distracted casual participants. Perhaps it is just a community college thing. Many are still learning how to go to school.
Anyway, you should rant more often Lunchbox. Come on, you're so good at it!
