Ya gotta watch the clip!
Has our dear Alfie gone 'round the bend?

I'm missing something.
The chair is reupholstered slightly differently than usual (in leather that isn't black, with some extra buttons on the headrest and a strip of fabric in one corner) and it has a brass-colored base. Those are the only differences from the standard Herman Miller chair, right?
Herman Miller already offers the chair in olive green, along with dozens of other colors including bright yellow and pink. The buttons are trivial details. The ribbon is, too; it's not MY style, but it's only a small bit of decorative upholstery.
I guess the base color is the largest change from a standard chair, but if it's as dark and muted in person as it appears in the photos, I don't think I'd find it unattractive.
So what's so terrible about the chair?

Ah. I was looking only at what the chair IS, not at what it's meant to represent.
I can understand the reactions now. The chair doesn't produce those reactions in me -- I was once THIS CLOSE to painting my green sports car in jungle camouflage patterns -- but thank you for explaining.
thanks tktoo
I missed the u...
thanks tktoo
I missed the u tube clip, I guess i am out of the loop.Do you think we could get a Saarinen Womb chair done in in the air force motif with the light blue with wings on the side,
or How about a couple of Mies Barcelona chairs done up in the black and red marine style. real manly looking.
But I always thought that Corbusier chair would be great for the Navy guy.either in White or Navy.just has that ship look to it..
.
It could be a spectacularly obtuse aesthetic corruption, a vulgar marketing ploy, an ill thought conflation of design and war or the unfortunate result of biting the hand that feeds you or maybe all those things!
Fastfwd, cmon! 🙂 Not sensitive to that stimulus, so thats why your sports car was very nearly camouflaged?
