Yummy, Adam! I want one of those
someday!
Robert, I haven't decided whether I'm going to redo my swan myself---probably will, since I've been wanting one to practice on but it's not something I would ever subject a client to. I figure if I screw it up, I can always have it redone and I'll still make money on it. (Probably will not keep it as I have furniture I love and really don't need another chair...)

first thing in a bit
a legit HM 5' slat bench. I assumed it was a repro when I picked it up, it was just too shiny. But it has the label underneath. I think it is a VERY recent production, but still...

Yummy
Folke Ohlsson for DUX 3 Seater. Upholstery is original but the foam in the seat cushions reminds me of cheerios. Am getting them replaced.
QUESTION. The straps are original but have a pretty dramatic sag (maybe 2" in the middle). Worth replacing? Or just live with it? And if replace, what would be the best choice?

waffle:
worth replacing in my opinion. It will be more comfortable. And even if it were stored in a museum they would have degraded like that, so I think they just need to be replaced no matter how you look at it.
If you want it restored to perfection get the fagas straps. Or if you want the cheaper possibly more durable solution upholsters sell a woven stretchy strapping for chair seats and backs. Has a red or green stripe down the middle, and one color is for the back and the other for the seat.

hum
any place OTHER than fargasstraps.com to order them? As I will need >20 price is an issue. Also might visit my local furniture restoration store to see what they have.
EDIT, any chance I can re-purpose the metal clips and roll my own, so to speak?
