Ruud Jan Kokke. 1st edition slat chairs 1986 – These are early editions were made by furniture makers Hubers as he could not find manufacturer that was interested due to the design being so complicated and expensive to produce. The first series were therefore only produced in very small numbers making them quite rare (later editions were manufactured by Metaform or ‘t Spectrum). Black lacquered oak wood frame with inlaid ash wood slats. These first edition chairs have a more rudimentary design as they do not have the added corner curved sections that Kokke added to later versions (probably for extra support). Not having the corner sections gives them a much more minimalist, pared down modernist aesthetic.
Having been treated well by previous owners, they are all in good condition with only minimal signs of age and wear.
