New year, new thread. Plus, TLTYA #17 just crossed the 100-post mark.
Playing against type, I spent money on myself today and bought this Herman Miller Embody chair (top) for my home office. It replaces a 14-year-old Knoll Bulldog (bottom) that still works perfectly well, but whose seat foam has unfortunately compressed to the point of discomfort.

thinking of others
I spend every day acquiring things for me. I have been told it is Christmas all the time in this house.
I took a moment to give my wife the Marc Newson, K-01 camera with DA 40mm f2.8 XS pancake lens for Pentax and the Andy Summers, I'll Be Watching You - Inside The Police, 1980-83 signed limited edition for Taschen.

Wegner CH23
My first Wegner purchase.
Pretty good deal on craigslist. Was able to get the last one, after the first four went to a good upholsterer/dealer in the area. The roping is in excellent shape with no tears or loose areas. There are a few paints spots and small stains on the wood and roping, which should be able to be cleaned, and a small split in the wood, which will be a little tougher to glue/clamp as the roped seat does not want to be removed.

a nice lamp and a little help!
a nice vintage brass lamp. vintage works, older cord. The metal base weight has something that looks like CHAL something, bert, fort? eh? Searches are not getting me any hits.
I don't think it is Koch & Lowry, even though it looks the part. Nice lamp, regardless.

Waffle your lamp may be Casella
Waffle, the lamp looks like it was made by Casella lighting to me. They came with different shades and most have the same base.

The wife wanted one, too.
And I acquired a $22 monitor stand for my desk by fastening four Ikea kitchen-cabinet legs to an Ikea wall shelf.

Found at the Goodwill this weekend...
My wife & I were picking the local Goodwill this weekend. They had just wheeled a bin out, and I spied the top of an unassuming pepper mill and pulled out and casually flipped it over. I was happily surprised to read 'Dansk Designs Ltd. Denmark JHQ.' 😀

Prints for my bedroom
I've been acquiring a lot for myself since the New Year, as I am giving my room a renovation.
I'm currently obsessed with wall canvases of Rock bands- I bought an image a canvas with an image of The Who today, to hang on my wall.
I now have 7! A bit too much for one room maybe... but I love Rock memorabilia!

Yes
There should be a plug there. A rare find and valuable item nonetheless. Congrats.
