An enormous soapstone sink. I love soapstone. Weighs as much as I do. Not sure what I am going to do with the sucker, though. Pic in a sec

Picked this up today for 90...
Picked this up today for 90 British pounds.
Really REALLY happy with it. I'm a real Space-age fanatic and this finishes off our lounge in style.
Perhaps someone knows more about it? (there's no markings on it)

Move outs and magic dumpsters!
last week it was a Selig 'Z' chair, this week it was a Grete Jalk for Frances & Sons 🙂
I live in a university neighborhood and its the mega move out weekend! I also picked up a Fiesta mug, 4 Dansk mugs, and 1800's pocket sized copy of 'Hamlet'- owned by Ezra Meeker, one of the first settlers in the Pacific Northwest (Washington State)
The 'kids' just pile everything out on the sidewalks, crazy...

Vitra Eames ottoman
Thrift shop find.
Is this the Brazilian rosewood?
I guess a black sleeve around the shaft is missing- any details on it? Anodized? How did it attach?

JLL, I'm not an expert on these
chairs, but it looks like the post is of a bigger diameter and shorter length than those in the photos on the Vitra site.
The wood does look nice though.

Eames Evans DCWs
Posted in a dilemma thread yesterday - the biggest souvenirs I've picked up while on vacation.
I found a set of 6 Evans DCWs (5-2-5 pattern) for $165 a piece. A dangerous thing, Craigslisting thousands of miles away from home.

Fantoni
I was thrilled to find this Fantoni sculpture at an estate sale just a couple blocks from my house. The house was a colonial with almost entirely traditional furnishings.
I was going to go the first day, but saw a long line and decided not to bother. It was the second day after lunch when I wandered over. I was surprised to get the sculpture and a Brown Jordan outdoor sun shade. I wonder if I missed out on any other treasure.
Guess you can never know what a vintage estate might hold.

Holy wow!
What a find this morning! Six Frederick Weinberg(or is it Paul Tuttle?) stools, a Greta Grossman lamp, and a cute teak bird... Anyone recognize the bird?
