Picked up this Curtis Jere lamp, designed for Laurel, at an estate sale. $35? You bet I'm taking it home! Caught some serious flak from the gf for this one. I'm actually not a huge fan of most Jere stuff either, but this one caught my eye. I'm gonna need to find a better looking shade though...

I got a torn paper collage at the Goodwill for $7, by Jo Lathwood (1902-1987) who was a sportswear designer and artist in Southern California in the 1950's.

I just pulled 4 red Panton licensed S chairs out of a dumpster a few hours ago. They are newer plastic and very chalky on the top. Anyone know how to get rid of the chalk? Light sanding? I'm sure I can seal then with semi-gloss plastic spray paint when done.

Thanks. It is not a very large piece, at 20x16 inches, but my girlfriend and I like it a lot as well.

CTM
Won a CTM in excellent shape for a really good price at auction(good price at auction!?...what a shock!)
CTM has always been one of my favorite Eames designs.
Borrowed the picture from Google but mine looks exactly the same

Look what I found at the thrift today! Picked it up, to see who it was by, and can you imagine my surprise when I saw the name "Koen de Winter". Designed in 1977, and manufactured by Rosti in Holland, this piece is part of MOMA's collection. And now it's part of mine 🙂

Barstool trio
Picked up these nice Rosengren Hansen stools at the debut of a small auction house near my home. I thought they were a bargain. I see them described alternately as either Teak or Rosewood. Does anyone here know for sure? I don't know enough about woods to tell!

I'm planning to make some myself, out of ash and walnut.
This could roughly be the design...

From the Goodwill for $14.99, what appears to be an Aldo Londi bull, albeit missing the more typical bright colored glaze and stamped patterns.

I guess they are training all Goodwill and Salvation Army workers to spot value and look things up on the internet because by definition a bull figurine should not be $15 at a "thrift" store.

The training thing has been...
The training thing has been going on for quite some time, although I suppose that there is only so much value that you can train or motivate a minimum wage earner to spot. That being said, I no longer tend to pick up things at thrift stores that say "Leica" on them.
