If you're saying
that these two pieces are from the same hand, I'd have to disagree. They are clearly related by form and material, but the differences between the two are what makes one "modern" and the other, not.
An interesting case study in design is the result of this pairing -- thanks for letting us see them !

Despite the obvious difference, they are absolutely by the same hand. A lot of Hoglund's iron and glass works have a strong Swedish folk art influence. Other pieces, like mine, are more purely modernist. Lisa, on all his pieces the iron parts were done by either Axel Stromberg or Ystad Metall, and the glass by Boda.

Copies is maybe a strong word.
Let's just say that several designers did designs in a similar style at this time.
I think that Gene's candelabrum and the bird shaped candle sticks Lisa E posted are all by Gunnar Ander for Ystad Metall.
I'm not 100% sure, but I believe most of Höglunds pieces don't use plain glass 'pucks', but mostly have some kind of embossed motive or different shapes. But I can't be sure this is always the case.

Thanks for that info -- very interesting. I have been under the misconception that these pieces are Hoglund for a long time, but in doing some Google searching it does seem these are Gunnar Ander piece. I guess that would explain the difference in style. Now I am wondering about my chandelier (also have a matching candelabrum). I've only seen this piece attribued to Hoglund but it is more modernist in style than his other chandeliers -- also Gunnar Ander?
