hi all,

first off, happy holidays to everyone !

in terms of the news, 2017 might well have been (in the words of our gracoius, glorious and noble queen (and i don't mean auntie mark):) an annus horribilis, but design addict has been a constant of good sense, much humour and honest principles throughout, and i for one am incredibly grateful for that !

so, in what is certainly my last purchase of 2017, i picked up this cadovius royal system, and was wondering if anyone knew what the specific uses for the wall units were. two of the three units i have might be drinks related while the third (with the perforated back) might be for a hifi system ... or something that creates heat ???? i have absolutely no idea so if anyone has any info it would be much appreciated 🙂

thanks all and, once again, happy holidays !

bb

p.s. apologies for the crappy images. the first unit with the sliding doors has a divider in the middle and two shelves either side. the other two units have the weave front and the one with the perforated back has a sliding shelf while the other has a shelf and two drawers (one of which is unfortunately missing).

billyboy, your holiday greetings are well appreciated and however disheartening the news has been for you all across the pond, it's been worse over here. There is peace and happiness to be found amongst family and friends during this joyous season and I'm certain the DA gang counts as either. Heartfelt thanks and cheers to one and all!

The beauty of your system (Cado, not political), is that it's so flexible. It meets almost any need! I think you're right that the cabinet with the perforated back was meant for electronic components as the sliding shelf allows for connecting cables and the back, ventilation. Fall-front cabinets provide additional work space when open, so your guess is as good as any.

I'm loving the basket-weave front on the one cabinet. I'd not seen that before!

Here are some pictures of the Royal System catalog that shows each cabinet description and usage, also an installation guide.

it never ceases to amaze me the wealth of information and willingness to share of the people on design addict. many, many thanks!

as you say tktoo, it's beauty is that it's so versatile and yes, the basket weave front is really nice. i'll post some better images once it's been cleaned up and is on the wall 🙂

cheers and happy hols everyone!

tiskarna,

i also have a set of 6 pia chairs that i don't use as they don't go with the john mortensen table i have ... now you've shown me the catalogue, i might just have to get me one of those r- or k-tables ... would go perfectly with the wall units!

cheers again for sharing,

bb
