I picked up this chair recently (cost the princely sum of £1.50!) - its late 40s early 50s, almost certainly British - quite similar to Race's DA2 but I'm thinking more likely HK / Morris / Heals even? Nice original fabric - the texture reminds of tube trains 20 years ago. Also the very atomic looking flower stand (etagere when I come to sell it) in the last pic, one of a pair and would look a treat with an Antelope chair for company. Any ideas on either?

Nice chair
That's a nice chair. Don't know who designed it, but I have to say how nice your Aalto also is!

Why
do a few furniture designers persist in making chairs that look like they would tip over backwards without too much encouragement ? Jens Risom suffered from this malady. . .
On the other hand, maybe this was to encourage "tipping back" ? Some of us like to do that with side chairs now and then.
