Hi--new to this forum.

I'm searching for advice on "occasional tables"--I need more surface space for the occasional cocktail parties I'm always imagining I'll throw (yet to have one yet! ) I was thinking of either getting the Joseph Albers set of 4 nesting tables or possibly the Patricia Urqiola T-tables (in black) at DWR in the 3 different sizes for a table grouping.

Issues are that the room I need the tables in is pretty eclectic--I just managed to tie things together with a series of 6 prints framed in black in all same sizes, but I worry the room may look too chaotic with the different colors of the Albers tables. Also the room would benefit from the something round in it for a bit more balance, so leaning toward those urqiola tables. However, I'm not sure if that plastic of Urqiola's will look "cheap", if you know what I mean. In concept I like the idea of a old-fashioned look combined with a modern material, but I ended up returning the Bourgie lamp in black (DWR) because it looked chintzy/slightly Las Vegas to me.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

The Albers tables
The Albers tables are so beautiful, and the colours just so wonderful, that I can't ever imagine them looking chaotic.
They'd be my first choice everytime !

one more vote for Albers
Another vote for the Albers Tables. However, if you feel this would introduce too many colors in your room, you can get similar style tables from other labels in full wood, which would be more serene. Check out architonic for some quick ideas on alternatives.
Though, on a subjective note I must admit I quite like the Albers tables. But what would be best for your space depends on the look you want to create: do you go for lively & eclectic, or prefer rather calm & serene ? And of course it also depends on what other colors are already in the room. If you are unsure, just take some time out to decide.
However, if you write that you returned the Bougie lamp, then I would seriously reconsider buying the Patricia Urquila set. They are of a similar style, and after a while you might turn you of, and you might be inclined to return them too.

black tables
sorry about the typos in the last sentences. That should be resp Urquiola & after a while they might turn you of/ intermixed with you might tire of them.
An alternative set of black nested tables (but v expensive unfortunately), is PK 71
