Hello everyone! I hope you're all doing well. I'm new to this wonderful world and was hoping you could help me.

I bought this modular unit in Norway, where I'm currently living, without seeing any photos of it fully assembled. I've only managed to put together a small part of it because I don't know how to attach the display cabinets (I have five in total). So far, I've only been able to install the shelves, as you can see in the photo.

If you could also help me identify the name of this furniture piece, that would be fantastic. I'm attaching some photos.

Thank you so much!
Martina

Hey, @martinamc, welcome to the forum! Seems you have a Royal System by Poul Cadovious. I don't own one but I think in order to attach the cabinets you will need some sort of dowels or pins, which connect the wooden uprights to the cabinets. The original ones look like the ones in the picture and have a diameter of 5mm. But I think you can easily use alternatives.

Thank you so much for your help! I was able to find an alternative and it worked 🙂 So, all of the cabinets can be hang with these 5mm but theres one that I dont know what it needs, maybe you can also help me with this? The picture is how it looks inside. I went to a second hand store and they told me I needed a piece which is very hard to find to be able to hang this one. Do you know an alternative? Thanks again and hope you are having a nice day, Martina

Maybe you, @tktoo? Or @cdsilva

Does the cabinet even belong to Royal System? I've never seen this front. But I'm not an expert.

@herringbone

No expert here, but I agree that cabinet is not part of any CADO Royal set I've ever seen. I don't believe I've ever seen a freestanding set with legs exactly like those either. Seems almost as if @martinamc's may have been adapted and/or modified by a previous owner perhaps?

@martinamc. @herringbone. @tktoo

The cabinet photo that@martinamc posted is produced by Brodrene Jatog. Norway.

@martinamc. I would suggest you join this Norwgian FB group and post your question there.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/mobelhistorie

Posting link to one pic , of cabinet like yours,I found on that group .

https://www.facebook.com/groups/43370844437/search?q=jatog

They are usually very helpful.

Could you post photos of the other cabinets?

I have a Brodrene Jatogs catalog, but it appears to have been made before your cabinet was designed. It may be that the cabinet is a different model (or even brand) than the support frames, and that might be why you are having a hard time hanging them?

Thank you so much everyone for your help! I found this picture on Finn (norways biggest used marketplace), and its just like the one I have. I know I have different systems, but I now know how to put all the cabinets up (thanks to @herringbone :)) Im just missing how to hang this one.

I also found this article that says that this system it´s called “Rival” Teak Reol from Brødrene Jåtogs Møbelfabrikk.

@martinamc This is complicated. I‘m not sure that you can hang it at all. It depends on how the two systems fit. If the width of the cabinet is the same as the Royal System cabinets, you Can try to recreate the suspension of the other cabinets. Buy the apropriate parts and attach them to the back if its possible. Maybe you find original Royal System parts online.
