Hello, I've recently acquired one of these beautiful rocking chairs, but it has no identifying marks on it and I've noticed that are some variations of the rocker online. I'm wondering if the differences are due to design changes over the years or if it's possible that my chair is not authentic. I'd love to know if these details might also help narrow down the year of production. Any info is welcome!
Here are the differences I've noticed:
1) My chair has dark bolts (Allen wrench) at some of the places where two pieces of wood meet. I've seen some examples online and in old ads where no hardware is visible.
2) On the bottom of the rockers you can see where the legs come all the way through to the ground. I saw one example marked Bramin where the rockers were solid and you could not see the ends of the legs intersecting the wood.
I hope this makes sense. I've added a couple of photos of my rocker to illustrate.
Thanks in advance!
Jennifer
Looks right to me. Stickers fall off. An overview photo of the rocker might be helpful.
I've seen these/similar rockers from other countries like Colombia and South Africa, and I don't know what to make of them. These non-Danish ones have always not been made of a Danish wood choice, which sort of makes them stand out.
And it appears that your rocker is Afrormosia. The photos are soft focus though, so it is hard to say.
