The Herman Miller 670 is ...
The Herman Miller 670 is known world wide. You can go to any website and get a copy of the chair. With this knowledge no one should ever be fooled if they are looking for the real deal.
The chair that was purchased does not even look like a Eames 670 up close the Herman Miller chair.
To many people use the words Eames chair, that they are looking for . They should learn the only Eames chair is made by Herman Miller since 1956. any thing else is a lounge chair made by various companies, and is similar to to the Eames 670 chair made by Herman Miller.

LRF is right
I agree with LRF - plenty of info on the pieces if you simply search for it.
In regards to fakes I think we should qualify that with a comment that other manufacturers made similar pieces. Trust me, from an engineering point of view, there is nothing special about any chair produced, or table.
ALL can be duplicated so precisely, that no one would know they are fakes.
So it isn't about fakes - it is about competitors making near likenesses for the pieces that gained fame.
Thonet was a master of the industry at the turn of the century but one would not dare call some of their chairs "fake" because they resemble Eames (and Eames came after Thonet).
If however you see people like Modernesia (ebay seller to be avoided at all costs) actually claiming a chair to be something it is not - that is a fake (a lie).
I know of no manufacturer currently that produces any fakes (if there are, please let me know so I can study them) - we have current licenses being held for pieces and sadly, some of the parts are being used on old chairs and being passed on as genuine article (again, modernesia tsk tsk!).

Ahhh Haaa!
I just posted about my new 'Project Chair' on this fourm. I had thought I had a Plycraft chair. Your picture are of my chair, so I guess I now have a 'Charlton Project Chair'. Thanks for the wonderful pics. I was baffled by the wood support and the box around the chair mechanism.

Kratka Drawing
Hello,
Could you possibly email this drawing to me - the image on the post is miniscule and I'd love to see it.
Thank you.

Amazon
You can buy the exploded print on Amazon for $7 USD. Sold by Eames Office. It would seem that 2 out of 3 people like it.
