@renewillem, FWIW, I used some 1" hardened super-sharp S/S pins I keep in stock pressed into the panels to keep the shock mounts in place when clamping (don't "starve" the joint by applying too much pressure!) and pulled them once the adhesive had set. I also faired the squeeze-out to a +/- 3/16th-inch radius fillet around the perimeter and cleaned up excess while the glue was still wet. All seem to be holding up well after 10-years of abuse down in our rec room (or what we still call "Teenage Hell").

thats a good tip, thanks. and yes have read in my research to make sure theres about a postcard width of glue there - not pressed too tight. Will post some pics once all done. Still have a little more vaneer work to do because mine was so chipped/rough, and that's super time consuming, but will get there!
