Hello Batcave.

Your idea would simply be too much leather. The soft-pad lounge would marry well with the sofa..but it should be upholstered out of cloth.

just a thought,

Aunt Mark

Hello.

That combo would look quite nice. Perhaps an Eames surfboard coffee table (in black mica) and one of Angela Adam's lovely charcoal wool rugs ( to anchor the group). Ideal set up for an Arco lamp, or a Sebastion Wrong large floor lamp (in black)...or both.

chalky white walls. fully stocked bar. meatloaf in the fridge. Sparse large artwork. An unlisted telephone #.

Best,

Aunt Mark

Why you have a lovely Batcave, Batman!

I love to see how others with refined taste dwell. Now...you didn't request my 3 cents worth...but I just have to give it anyhow. I'm a drunkard..and the local village idiot.

Yes, the brass tables will look very nice with you new sofa. Love the uplit tree, the drapes, and the concrete floor...and the art, too. Very nice. But gosh.. I'm not batshit about the lamps. Too "Restoration Hardware" looking.

And I like your Chesterfield sofa better than the new sofa. (but not the ottoman).

Your lamps should be matching overscale brutalist on travertine bases.

Be my friend,

Aunt Mark

Always good to hear from another idiotic lush, I hate being the only one.

The only reason I can think of that the lamps look restoration hardware-esque, is because I bought them there. Yeah... Not my finest moment, ha ha.

While I would love to make them work, I have serious doubts. Love the Brutalist idea, but I will need to score a deal. Whatever I get, you

Marvelous. The tree makes it, for me; just as the out-of-doors is marred when no trees are present, a tall space (at least) needs something to naturalize it, to scale it, to counter the geometries we furnish ourselves with ?

Bravo, and carry on. I'll be watching . . .

I think an Eames aluminum group lounge chair can work, but you might need to balance its lightness with the big mass of the sofa somehow. Also, even if it's black hopsack it'll mostly read as more black----and that's a lot of black for one room. I would think about adding something (or a few somethings) with a warm, wooly texture---flokati pillows, a mohair throw, a big sheepskin (like 4 sewn together--one of the dinky single ones will look lost in that big room). A really thick flokati rug would look fab but they're kind of a pain to clean. I would also think about adding a few jots of color--doesn't have to be a lot, just a bit of zing in the sea of cool neutrals.
