Whitespike
I have the DCMs pulled up the victorian oak table. Ash chairs - works just fine. The only thing I think might be an issue is the look. I tend to think the DCM looks a little school chair-ish. The DCWs look a little more stately and elegant.

When viewing them pushed under my dining table...
I like to think of my DCMs as sleek dining chair bots. They looks as if they could walk about if they so chose. I'm glad they let me sit on them.

I agree
Now that I have that out of the way:
A super deal on this table. My DCMs are ash. How do you think they will look with this? Be honest.....

I'm not normally a fan
of IKEA furniture, but I don't see how you could go wrong with that table
It looks honest and well proportioned

Doh! I totally passed over that it was IKEA! They said that it is solid wood ... would that be true coming from IKEA?

I think
I remember that table. It's planked pine, which isn't very expensive in terms of material cost. Judging from the pics, the color may match pretty closely with the ash DCMs, but obviously the grain will be different. I think it could still work though.

Like the table
I would sand it down and remove some of the shiny-ness. Rustic tables are supposed to look...rustic 🙂
The DCMs will look lovely together - both pine and ash will age to a nice mellow yellow color. The pine will probably wear much faster. Be warned tho - your DCMs will arrive almost a stark white! It takes a bit for the wood to oxidise.

PS.
Not sure if you can cancel the order- according to my DWR friend Herman Miller is going on sale on Saturday.

I actually found a great deal...
I actually found a great deal on some used DCMs that are just a few years old. Which is great, because like you said, they come stark white almost. These are already mellowed out a good bit.
I assume that the pine would age slower being laquered?
The only reason I would keep the laquer is durability.
