I have my mother's cork coffee table from the 50's or 60's. The finish looks very much like the posting on the dining room set. Someone spilled something on them without my knowing, and I had candle holders on the table that had dark felt on the bottoms, and the wet felt left two black marks on my table (about 5" round circles). Does anyone know of a way to clean these spots, or do I have to sand down the table and lose the shiny finish. The table does not look as if it has had laquer applied in the past. If I do sand it down, after sanding, what would I apply to the table afterwards? Please help! Thank you in advance!
