Hi,
I own 5 moller chairs, model 75.
The frames are finished black, like the ones Tchp posted before.
As I only got 5 and would like to keep the chairs, I'm now looking out
for more to add.
I've come by 6 chairs, but model 80, done in factory-executed fabric.
They are oak and I pressume my black examples are that way to?
Now is my question, do you think these models match around a table or are
the back to different. My black 75's need redone and I could order the same fabric or get new for all 11 together.
I like the way the legs and frame match but maybe the hight and shape of the backrest don't match up.

I believe that the 10 black...
I believe that the 10 black 75's I have are all made of oak. I can't rule out that parts of them are beech though.
Were you saying the model 80 chairs you found were also black?
I am pretty sure I would not mind the look of two 80's used at the head/ends of the table, but I really can't tell how much I might like or dislike them intermixed at a table, without seeing it. Normally I prefer matched sets, but I can be kind of OCD about stuff like that.
The legs and general stance of both chairs seem to go together very well, and the more I think about it, the more I can picture liking the effect of them used together. You are such a rebel.

🙂 thanks Tchp
I've just secured the deal on the chairs, buying them in one lot, together
with what seems to be a Gudme table and high quality cabinets by a Belgian producer.
The chairs are blonde oak (not black).
Are yours ebonised or laquered?
I'm wondering, when I start stripping-sanding if the color goed deep into the grain.

Did a bit of cut and paste in photoshop
This would be the look. I think I like it.
Fabric is very much comparible, maybe I would
switch to leather.

Yeah, that looks nice. I...
Yeah, that looks nice. I like that a lot.
My chairs are lacquered, and the initial four I bought were sold to me described as having been painted by a prior owner. It was only later that I realized that they were painted by the factory. I had started to sand away the paint on one (as you may recall), and I did not find that it went all that deep. In other words, it did not seem to have penetrated like a stain. Still, the task of removing all the black paint is not one I would particularly envy. And, hopefully you would not find that the chairs were made with differing wood types underneath the paint.
I encounter more of these black lacquered #75 chairs in Portland, Oregon than I see anywhere else in the world. I just saw two more a couple of weeks ago in a local vintage shop. I would have put new cord on mine, but I still kind of want to put black cord on them, which is so difficult/expensive to come by. I have been looking into various methods of dyeing cord myself.
