priced @approx. 700
i saw this table for sale on ebay for about 7 hundred
the company's name that is selling is called metro retro
has anyone else seen anything like this?

I believe this particular table (at the ebay link) is by Bassett. If so it was made in the United States. It does have matching end tables.

$700 is a giant rip off for that table. You should be able to find one for under $150

I find those tables for 40-150 on Craigslist. They're not designer, not that that matters. But you shouldn't pay anything near that for it. Metro Retro is known for extraordinary pricing on ordinary items.

The Grete Jalk teak coffee...
The Grete Jalk teak coffee table that may have served as the direct inspiration for the one at Metro Retro sometimes sells for around $700 on Ebay (although they can also sell for more/less). That is a far better deal/investment.
