New account, long-ago poster - how does one attach an image to a post? I've tried the "Choose File" button, selected a suitably-sized image and seen something appear next to the button - but I have no idea how to place that (presumably) uploaded image into the post, and it doesn't appear by itself. What am I doing wrong?
This problem has been an ongoing issue on the Forum and I'm looking hopefully to our new Moderators to address it.

@tktoo2 Oh, the pressure …

Fairly sure even after this adjust, there will be people that can't attach images 😉
I am not sure what tools Herringbone has, but I certainly can't see a way to solve that issues.
It sounds like the OP had successfully uploaded a photo, unfortunately there's no way to format it into the post, it's attached to the post. A bit like an email attachment, you don't choose where it goes in the email, it's just with it.
I certainly did not mean that you and/or Herringbone should put a lot of effort into it. The issue is that too often new members seem to have difficulty uploading photos. I just thought maybe you could pin a post with concise instructions in a more obvious spot on the Forum page.
@tktoo2 I was thinking about it. We have a new section called Forum Rules. This would be the place to put it. Next to all the rules somebody has yet to come up with.

I thought I'd never live to see the day!
But could we call them "guidelines"? Rules seem so, well, ruler-ish.

I like "guidelines".
BTW where does one find the previous rules/ guidelines. I'm sure some of them are still relevant and could be a starting point or they could be modified?

I have sent some through to @Herringbone to have a look at, but suddenly THAT seems very separate from the majority of the people who use this forum. So I'll post them below and see what you all think?
