This sideboard is from the early 1950's. After some internet research I think it might be vodder. Could it be rosewood?
Inside the tambor door, there are drawers to the left and open shelving on the right. As you can see it is still full and it is too heavy to movE at this point.
thanks for your help

legs and wall unit
the legs are tapered (shaped like a V) with a gold metal or brass tip ring around the end. The furniture was probably bought between 1955 and 1960. The wall unit is separate. The blue shapes are cut into the veneer, not painted on top. I never liked them.
An interesting story, was that my parents disagreed on where to buy a house. My mother said because they bought the less expensive house(that DAD wanted)DAD told her,she could buy "whatever she wanted for furniture". My mother's friend was a NYC designer, so her friend designed the living, dining, kitchen and master bedroom. I think my DAD had no idea what could happen with that scenario.
Ha !
An expensive promise ?
Here's your post on the drawers, which somehow got posted as a new thread:
DRAWERS
After 50 years it is amazing how the drawers slide smoothly. The tambor door sticks a little. The interior drawers have that cut away front, what do you call it, where you put your fingers inside the drawer, no nob or pull on the front.
I believe the wall unit and sideboard came together.

That scoop pull is often called a "finger pull."
If you are able to remove the tambour door, you can clean the tracks of accumulated schmutz and perhaps apply some hard parafin as a lubricant.
shelves with curved ends
I might have found the designer. Could it be Wilhelm Lutjens?
I found bookcase with similar selves on themodernwarehouse.com and there is a photo here too.
I am going to my parents house to make a detailed list with photos of all the MCM items... in two weeks... Will come back with more photos... but this time they won't be messy. My brother has finally cleaned up the house...
