"A paraphilia is a recurring sexually exciting fantasy, impulse or behavior related to non-human objects e.g things, fabrics, designs, the suffering or humiliation of oneself or the partner, etc. So basically it is getting aroused by things that wouldn't arouse the average person. You have a paraphilia when you have these thoughts, behaviours and impulses for at least 6 months and they are distressing for yourself or others."

- web4health.info

Besides the obvious that are not connected with a design addiction (suffering of others, humiliation, et al), do you think architects/designers/enthusiasts can be guilty of this? Are there any written declarations of sexual arousal and/or distress from design?

Pardon me for the odd posting. Let me know if this is out of line.

That's a weird idea. I read...
That's a weird idea. I read about those people who wanted to marry the Eiffel Tower or left a toy train for a fence (NOT a joke!). The condition is rather a menthal disease than fantasy or impulse, these people have serious problems.
We joke about professors petting bricks and materials at the architecture school, but it's just jokes.
Oh, and as an architect suffering from architectural paraphilia you'd be like Frankenstein creating your own bride - scary!
