Hi there ! Do you have any examples of how the marking of Andreas Tuck changed over the decades ? I'm asking because sometimes I see "Fabrikat: Andreas Tuck" and other times the "Fabrikat" is not there. It's easy when there is a sticker from the danish cabinetmakers, because that was introduced only in the 60es, but without the sticker it's hard to say.
Maybe @cdsilva has any clue ? Thanks !
In fact, I do. Here are the four marks I’ve seen on pieces, along with the company logo, which I’ve never seen on a piece. This is not 100% verified, but the order I’ve assembled based on logic. You’ve already noted that the DFC mark is a good reference. I believe that logo ran from 1959 to around the late 70’s/early 80’s, after which the word “quality” was added to the logo. I also use the logic for all marks that “Danmark” is earlier than “Denmark”. Here is a link to further info from Zephyr, including a designer after Wegner and Tuck closing down in 1972.
No, zero connection. I have an Excel database of mid-century Danish Modern furniture company logos, which is organized alphabetically by name (or last name in the case where companies are named after individuals.
In this database, Andreas Tuck falls in a row between Trioh and Uldum Mobelfabrik.
