sure it won't solve poverty but I've never seen anything like this, a roll up self supporting chair, its on the blog, University of Belgrade prototypes.
I am so impressed with the principle, the little wedges... its a little rough and I can see it perhaps with hidden cable and full upholstery but its just so clever and not clever in a shallow way.

I really hope the student gets some strong IP rights backing from the university (indeed if it was mine I would have kept it under my hat for a while).
I'm not sure how it works elsewhere but apparantly universities can have automatic ownership of any staff or students work!
