Loving this at the mo. Not sure who the maker is.

What's your favourite?

Hornsea pottery made some...
Hornsea pottery made some really cool grandparent crockery. You look at them and it SCREAMS little ol' lady modern. I love them though - they are very cheap on UK eBay too due to mass production.

My favorite potter now workin...
My favorite potter now working in the USA is Meredith Brickell, currently in North Carolina, I believe.
Peter Voulkos is arguably the greatest potter of the American modernist movement, although one could make a good case for George Ohr. The late Frances Senska, from Montana, had as much impact on studio pottery in the United States as anyone, a teacher to Voulkos, et al, and a great potter in her own right. In addition, talking great potters, one always thinks of the Natzlers, Cabats, Scheiers, etc, and their esteemed peers, including Stephen Polchert, who is starting finally to get some of the recognition he deserves.
The above examples I mention, obviously, are not makers of mass produced commercial ceramics, like those pictured so far, which are kind of another ceramic altogether, often very nice and suitably retro, but not necessarily -- by way of definition -- terribly modern.

That's so beautiful! I checked out her website, and I'm so impressed by her ceramics.
Reminds me of local handmade pottery I saw in Lisbon.
