there were lots of 'zetel'-fabriekjes (as we call them in flemish, seating producers) in Flanders, but a lot of them went bust when big German producers started up in the seventies. A whole industry actually was wasted, when international firms like Hulsta took over.
Durlet still exist, as does Jori.
I've seen your chair before, but never with the articulation on the arms, wich is indeed a scandinavian influence from typical teak designs. Nevertheless, I believe it to be Belgian production.

I got a wooden (oak), curved sofa in Brussels at a flea market a few years ago, and I've been trying to figure out where it came from. I'll probably never know. It's the most comfortable couches I've ever experienced, but it's a bit hard to dismount because it's so low to the ground! The info about the Belgian furniture manufacturing is good to know. --john
