It's late, the lighting is poor, but I have been dying to put these chairs side by side for weeks. Thought this may be interesting to a few on DA.

For reference, this is Saarinen's large Womb chair. Nelson's Kangaroo dwarfs it in person.

Happy to post more pics if anyone is interested (though it may be a few days before I get to it).

That IS an amazing comparison Teakhound.
The Womb chair is quite a large chair, but it somehow retains a sense of "scale" - especially when humans are involved.
The Kangaroo is flat out HUGE, as you say. I'm guessing one designer probably spent more time with actual prototypes than the other. The Kangaroo feels like it was not designed with as much body consciousness. But I'm sure it looked great on the drawing board.
Not to say that this is not a stunning example.
I like it-- the Womb vs the Pouch!

I've never seen the kangaroo chair before, it's gigantic! Using the womb chair as a scale really puts it into perspective, now I want to sit in one.....

Thank you for the pictures. I've also not seen the kangaroo chair before. I own a Saarinen womb chair with ottoman and I don't know about anyone else but I personally find it very comfortable. Since you've posted both chairs, I'm interested in hearing how they compare on a comfort level.
