Hello,
I won what I suspect is a William Plunkett sofa on ebay. It looks very similar to his Reigate chair, are there any Plunkett experts who could confirm if the sofa is his design?
It is clear that it doesn't have the original cushions so i'd like to get some remade closer to the original spec. The Reigate chair had quite thin cushions I believe, does anyone know the rough thickness?
Finally, can anyone recommend a good upholstery fabric supplier in the UK? I'm guessing the Reigate chairs used a hopsack type material so i'm looking for something similar. Oh, and it needs to be reasonably priced!
Many thanks for any help!
Ben.

Although I'm not familiar with the sofa I have had Reigate chairs before and this looks identical - right down to the aluminium strip where the back meets the arm. Great find!! I think they were originally upholstered in fairly bright woolen jersey type material if that helps (reds, oranges, yellows) - if you know someone good with a sewing machine its pretty much a diy job.
Thanks paulanna
Thanks Paulanna, I thought it was the same as the chairs so glad to hear you agree, i've never seen one before either.
Thanks for the tip on the jersey material, that sounds right. Do you know of any reasonably priced upholstery suppliers in the UK?
It would be nice to be able to find original photos of the sofa to base the cushions on, do you happen to have any photos of your chair as that would help with getting the proportions of the cushions correct.
Many thanks again,
Ben.
