I am wondering if any of you have taken the base off of a knock off shell chair (not real knock offs like modernica...)and used it on an authentic herman miller or vitra shell? I am asking because it might be cheaper for me to buy one than to buy the base off of modernica.
Reproduction bases
There are a number of sellers on eBay and probably elsewhere that offer reproduction bases at lower prices. I can not speak to the quality or differences in details of all of them, but at the very least, they will fit and provide the look you are going for.
