Why do you buy Design furniture ?  

Well designed furniture
I buy well designed furniture because I believe it enhances the way that I live. Most of what we consider "design" is really about problem solving, whereas a lot of "designer" furniture is more about styling and aesthetics.
The comfort of a Womb chair is far more impressive than it's aesthetic. And I see the beauty in a Brno chair that is comparable to a haiku; with all excess cut away.

Shawnmarie, this site is so much more than object worship. Objects, like people, can possess depth...it's up to the viewer to take a moment for discovery. Perhaps possess isn't the best word...I'm sure you get my meaning.
An object is a word to one person, but hefty tomes to another.

totally on the money.
The stuff people buy from stores ranging from Hom to Macy's is 'generic', unnamed furniture that I call "suburbean contemporary"......a/k/a/ tacky and boring.
