This lamp was designed for Herman Miller by Jack Kelley.
Kelley also designed the 1st computer mousepad while working at the Stanford Research Institute with Douglas Engelbart, inventor of the world's first computer mouse.
Kelley did a lot of design work for HM including Action office and Ethospace office systems.

Actually,
I have three of 'em and when/if I miove to Phoenix, I will use two of them as bedside tables (they're great with the switch on the bottom).
The other one will be on my computer desk - where it is now.
