Teak
I am using a chunky rectangular solid teak table with walnut DCMs, but I think ash would work just as well.

We use...
an Eames oval conference table but I would RATHER have a Platner Dining table. The thin legs of the DCM echoing the "wires" of the Platner base...SEXY!!

I do really want wood, but I don't seem to think a blonde table would look good with the blonde chairs for some reason ... too much of one thing?
Walnut is too contrasting to me, and looks weird. I was wondering if a medium teak would work ... a little darker than the ash, but not too contrasting. Other than that, white laminate is the only other thing i can think of. I like the Eames table fine, but I want this to be warmer, more elegant, more formal....

PS - mine are only 5 years old. While they aren't brand new white looking ash, they are lighter than an old one.

My vote goes rustic - but simple - farm table.

I have the same colored Eames table as Nick, above
but the legs on mine are the 4 legged contract base. Either one would be ultimate with your Eames chairs.
I love the Noguchi Cyclone table too.

47" or 56" Saarinen tulip
I have a 47" Saarinen tulip with DCMs around it. 4 of them, but it fits 6 in a pinch. The 56" will do 6 easily.

DTM
Our last place had a very modest dining room. We have a set of 6 early DCMs with the matching DTM that fit perfectly and was quite functional in the compact space. As others said, DCMs also pair nicely with a Noguchi or a Saarinen. It's such a versatile chair that it looks good with a wide variety of tables in different styles.
