Somebody is
making a plastic version, in colors. It's not a perfect match: the back is pretty good, but the seat is a squared-off platform. The base stretchers seem similar. It's called the Coke chair, or something; it's made from recycled Coke bottles,
-- 122 of them, I think. Anyway, that's not what you're looking for !
.
Mine came from an asylum that shut down a few years ago in New Jersey.
But it is rare to find a large lot of them.
Hundreds were scattered around
the halls and outside. Surprising that many were in bad shape.
A tough crowd i suppose.
It took me some time to find 6 but i was being picky.
Two Jakes in Brooklyn NY may have some. They would have many, but
at the time they were not that interested and did not offer much for all the
trouble of transport etc and i'm not much of a hustler nor do i have the
time to sell. They also sell the new ones.

Patrick just did the fastest delete I've ever seen, was about to offer some shyster some magic beans and my first born.
What is it that people find so attractive about these chairs?
I find them rather ugly to be honest and I can't imagine they're especially comfortable, is it a bit of romance and nostalgia?
I'll go.
I like the Goodforms a lot better than the Emecos, I guess because the upholstered backs and seats break up all that metal. Plus there's the fun of picking out fabric or leather to replace the original (very ugly) vinyl.
But aside from that, I like the color and brushed finish of the aluminum, and I really, REALLY like that they're never going to get loose joints or broken rungs and you don't have to be careful with them at all. This mattered to me when certain family members routinely wore out wood chairs.
I have a nice set of Møller chairs but I'd scrounge a set of Goodforms if I was just starting out with young kids and a husband who could not be taught how to scoot a chair up to the table [cough].
