signed? yeah, right.
it's a curious thing that the "signed" chairs have no visual evidence in the photographs of such signature. perhaps that's part of the mystique of this "rare" auction.

If you look at his one photo it shows a stamp with a KD which I always thought stood for Kraft Dinner.LOL
Did you happen to see the price for the Finn Juhl I could buy a set for that.

it's code
The 18KD3 is probably alphanumeric code for something, maybe Saarinen's pet name for a favored Knoll employee whom he wanted to honor in this way. This ebay seller has insider knowledge. We should all be so privileged.
I came up with 1DUKE after looking at the buttons on my phone and doing a little scrambling. Or maybe it's Saarienen's dog. Or maybe he liked John Wayne.
Plus, as regards to the chair design, it was a prototype that was never made. Straight from grandmother's attic, the source of all the really good stuff on ebay, dontcha know.

a deceptive dealer
they only changed their listing slightly and very heavily imply that they are saarinen. they mention saarinens design awards and wax poetic about tulip chairs, but must have just forgotten to mention that they are knock offs. this seller deserves to be stuck with them forever.

You did
the right thing, LRF. Maryann isn't convinced, apparently; perhaps she prefers the squarish shape of these ? Or is she playing with our heads, again. . .?

judging from her expose of Noguchi, that story is ready for True Hollywood Story, she is playing with something....
if those chairs were suppose to be Tulips they should be considered WEEDS instead
