Unusual chair - ID requested.  

Johannes Andersen for Uldum Møbelfabrik. 

Put an asterisk next to Uldum also. These chairs were manufactured by a few different companies. I think they were all authorized, but maybe not. Somebody here probably knows....

I'll just tag along here, as I have some questions which I hope someone can answer.
The pictures below are, according to Design Museum Danmark, a Johannes Andersen chair, model 16, designed in 1965 for Uldum.
As you can the chairs are quite similar.
Are one of the chairs just a "facelifted" version of the other?
Does anyone know the design year/model no. of dready's chair?
I know the chairs from Uldum should have a "UM" stamp underneath, but as I have never owned neither of the chairs, I haven't had the opportunity to see for my self.
I know it killed the cat, but I'm curious anyway 🙂

Uldum did use fabric and foil paper stickers, which can often wander off over the years. So the lack of a mark underneath a chair is not indicative of its authenticity.

Are they both Johannes Andersen?  The second chair posted above is much more dramatic.

Well, chairs like dready's were produced by Uldum.  (I think the other maker I was thinking of is "Richbilt" and there might even be another).
And it seems unlikely that the factory knocked off their own designer.  So, even lacking proof, I think it is pretty certain they both are Johannes Andersen.

That was my first thought too. I know that some designers made “knock offs” of their own design, but for different manufactures. For example Wegners chinachair for Fritz Hansen/PP møbler.
However, “my” chair is also pictured in an installation for Uldum, with a dining table (see photo below), and there is a reference to Mobilia 1965 no. 120. I don’t own any of the Mobilia magazines (unfortunately), so if anybody could confirm this reference, I would be happy.

I was thinking of the logo when it's burned in the wood (not stamped). I'm not sure about the english term for this. "Burnmarked" sounds like someone dropped a cigarette on the furniture.
I've seen several different Uldum stickers. I honestly can't tell if they're all authentic, as some of them looks "home-made". But maybe the marketing departement at Uldum had nothing better to do, than changing the stickers all the time 😉
 

I know that Moreddi manufactured these Johannes Andersen chairs and I believe they were licensed. I had a chair exactly like that (except the fabric was faux leather) and it had the Moreddi stamp burned into the wood. Hope that helps!

To the best of my knowledge Moreddi was only an importer in Southern California. 

Thanks for the feedback about Moreddi. Being danish, I had never heard of Moreddi before.
It seems that you are both right.
Your info led me to an old thread on DA, where the daugther of one of the founders of Moreddi participates.
It seems Moreddie bought alot of furnitures from different manufacturers all over scandinavia.
The Johannes Andersen chairs could very well have been manufactured at Uldum, but only marked with the Moreddi logo.
