Well!...
I was in a nostalgic mood yesterday and i sought out the aforementioned "Jeffrey" who was indeed surprised to see me after forty odd years (ha) and i am shocked to the core that he had no recollection of the spear incident at all.. i am even more shocked to a deeper core that he has been very happy with his partner (i still blame those dolls) for years and never gave me a second thought after we moved house from there!.I always had in my mind that he would pine for me and eventually become a monk or a tramp or something. Needless to say the three of us celebrated our reunion over a nice bottle.I told him it had been caused by a paperclip..he thinks i am mad.
Hello Koen..
Well...to be honest..when i was a kid throwing spears at other kids the scar seemed so big! and i would swear that there was at least a pint of blood, however in reality it was a minor scar with a few drops of blood!, things always seemed bigger when i was little..I did notice on our reunion that he has also lost a finger in the past sometime but alas i cannot take credit for that one.Maybe he chopped it off in his pain and anguish at my leaving?..yes thats what i will think.
And to think psychiatrists get paid for...
introducing archetypal imagery like a paperclip into a client's therapy! I perhaps will have to give counselling a go. But I digress (and digressing is difficult to do from the start of a comment, but, look here, lads and lassies, I've done it, so there).
Viviennnnnne,
It is my "expert" opinion that your visit is going to have far reaching ramifications for both your and Jeffrey's well-being. I predict a flurry of intense creativity and the peeling back of yet another layer of self to reveal an even more fascinating and vital person.
For Jeffrey, I forecast that he will get out of his rut with his mate and become and a Bengal Tiger in the sack!
Or do I have those visions reversed?
Ah, well, no matter. Either eventuality would be wonderful to realize, would it not?
I salute you, Viv, for your verve and willingness to explore the past.
The ghosts that haunt are just the echo of the future calling.
I like that DC...
"The ghosts that haunt are just the echoes of the future calling".That is soooo deep its scary!.Anyhow,Jeffrey is apparently already a tiger in the sack according to the gory details festooned onto me by the other half, but even if he was to come over the wall now and then he wouldnt be playing with my spears..he wears white socks!!..yuk.I did however offer them dinner one evening, they can sit on the good chairs.Paperclip therapy rules.
