I have two of these Thonet chairs. Can anyone tell me anything about them?

Specifically their age, designer, and are the metal studs original?

There are more images including the back, with the studs on my blog.

Any info would be appreciated.

Patent
I looked it up on Google Patent Search and came up with this:
http://www.google.com/patents?id=hnlyAAAAEBAJ&dq=thonet+chair&num=30
Hopefully this will help with your search for more information.

Thanks Black651
I've been watching this thread. Thank you for posting this patent information. It enabled me to identify my own Thonet chairs. I didn't know the google patent search existed.

I've always wondered:
Is it pronounced:
tho-NE ?
TOnet ?
THOnet ?
I always assumed it was tho-NE
Clarify it, please

Supposedly, pronounced "Tone It"
(...though I can't recall when-- or where-- I learned this "correct" pronunciation.)

Heath
I'm certain that the British pronounced the word as if it was an English word.
in the same way they call a garage "GAR-AGE" when everyone else called it a "ga-RAGE"!
