Does anyone have dimensions for the acrylic base of the Warren Platner Steelcase soft seat couch and chair?
We're in the process of restoring a set and the original bases are missing. We can get the OD measurements from each pieces recess but we're unsure of the original thickness and height.
Thanks!

Steelcase soft seating platner couch
I just had to ask you as I was shocked when I was trying to research and learn as much as i could about this couch and came across your post in which a staff designer Bill Andrus was the guy to actually create this design!!!! Am I understanding this correctly...that this was not actually a design that platner made himself! WOW amazing things that most people don't know.....I would love to speak with you more about this...its incredible what we would naturally believe is true oft times isn't ....
Rehashing an old thread, I know, but I couldn't resist.
I emailed into Steelcase this morning to try to solve this as I recently got this model into my hands and it's designership is somewhat in the air. It's not everyday I believe an internet person when they make a claim, so I'm glad I followed up with Steelcase to figure out the designer on this. If you go on 1stdibs, there's a dealer on there at this moment selling this piece as a Bill Andrus design in the "Platner Style", likely because they believed Cookieman on this very internet thread.
Anywho, I put the email into Steelcase and this was their response:
465 Series "Soft Seating" was introduced in May 1972. Steelcase commissioned renowned architect and designer Warren Platner (1919-2006) for the Soft Seating line. I will send additional information in a separate email.
Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any question.
Thank you for your inquiry!Sincerely,

She sent some catalog pdfs when they released it, though none had Platners name on them.
Anyway, I hope this helps the buffs out there.
