I have heard that steaming can remove small dents from wood.I'm wondering how this is accomplished.I have a Jiffy hand steamer.Would this do the trick? Anyone have any tips on how to do so? I have a credenza which has a few small soft dents.

generally you need a damp...
generally you need a damp cloth and a hot iron, the iron causes the rag to steam and the dent rises.Just be carefull not to overdo it,practice on something of little importance first.

Solid wood
This technique works beautifully on solid wood. It will make veneer buckle and peel off.
