A recent completed auction on eBay:

$108.50 for a Selig badge.
I'm not even sure where to begin for commentary. For the record, I have no problem with the concept of buying a legit vintage label/tag to replace one that has fallen off of an original piece of furniture. The Eames gang and Harley/Indian collectors will have different opinions for "matching serial numbers", which I perfectly understand. However, I put Selig in a different category (closer to Honda if we stick with the motorcycle analogy), especially since the earliest Selig pieces were unmarked.
But $108.50? ...
On a related note, I am looking for a John Stuart badge, so that my Edvard Kindt-Larsen FD510 can once again be whole. Please note however, I am only willing to pay a fraction of what the Selig badge went for.
We will really know that it is the end, when some one is selling the the branded piece of wood that says "Fabrikat Andr Tuck
Arkitekt Hans Wegner
Denmark"
