I'm interested in buying a chair or chairs from the States - has anyone had any shipping quotes to send to the UK, or actually done it?

Can it be cost-effective?

I haven't but I just used a worldwide shipping company to ship across the US. They were really reasonable so I would expect the same worldwide in comparison to others.
Call 1.800.CALL.BAX for a quote.

Shipping to UK
Depends on the size of the chair really. Anything that dismantles into a small enough box to go by USPS means that the shipping price is more palatable. I've had this done with some Eames shell chairs/Bertoia chairs. I did once have a larger chair go by Bax Global and it was very expensive plus there were import duties and a hefty admin fee from Bax too! Good luck....
