We purchased what seems to be an original of these from an estate. It looks exactly like all the original photos I find, but there is no circular tag that the originals seem to have. Is there another way to verify? All the details seem to match exactly.
Thanks!

If it breaks apart check the areas where the the joints are hidden, they could be marked Yugoslavia or Japan, as these chairs were copied.

well
I had one of these at one time and it did not have the round Selig tag (also no indentation for where it should be located if it had fallen off). Along the back bar on the seat was imprinted "made in Denmark"

Yes ours is stamped in to the wood under the seat MADE IN DENMARK, but I don't see any designer/mfg. tag. Were the originals made without any tags?

Selig is the importer, not maker, similar to Moreddi. Poul Jensen is the designer. However, I never seem to find any maker referenced. Perhaps Selig used multiple outfits in Denmark for manufacturing, but did not include their maker's mark (the same way house brands do not list their manufacturers either).
This would explain the various options seen for the support straps, from notched grooves for Fagas straps, to intermittent slots for a wooden dowel tensioning system.
I have one of each and find both to be of high quality construction.
