I don't
understand how the quest started with you buying 2 Eames lounge chairs at $5,000 a piece, to buying scraps of Eames chairs to mix for half, to buying a mass market chair for under $500, to buying an Ikea ping pong chair for $65.
Next your gonna ask what the best reading chair is that someone could donate to you for free...

I agree with spanky!
If you can admit comfort and design barely merge in one magical piece.
Though I'm far to have the very large knowledge some trustful forumers have, I share spanky's opinion that poang is close to be the most confortable chair i ever sat in.
So Spanky gave me here some very good upholster's advices when my stepfather was woodworking a danish style sofa for me.
I mixed them with a close study of the poang technical features (reclining angle, seat height etc.)
And now I have a gorgeous and very comfortable sofa to sit in!
thanks!

Though the Eames Lounge Chair...
Though the Eames Lounge Chair is my favorite chair overall, I don't find it a good reading chair. I'm 5'11, so unless I slouch low in the chair, my head would have to tilt forward quite a bit to read which is rather tiring.

I agree, kin.
I'm 5'10" (156lbs.)..if that counts?, and I just don't feel that my Eames lounge (actually I have 2) are good for reading/analyzing. I find that because of the forward tilt of the top-back (neck) area, the comfort zone is temporary. And oddly, if I use the ottoman, my one leg (left..and middle) "go to sleep"...yet I have no circulatory issues. I prefer to do my homework in a womb chair, or on a bar stool.
But then...

The Yngve Ekström Lamino...
The Yngve Ekström Lamino chair is actually a great reading chair. I got mine as a gift from my parents several years ago. The design is not really to my taste anymore (the more I learn about design, the more boring I find most of Yngve's designs...), but it's still serving it's purpose as an extremely comfortable reading chair in my studio...

Lets be honest the most...
Lets be honest the most comfortable is the Lazyboy type recliner.
My dad bought one and even the little ones rush to get it first.
Lazy is exactly what it does to those who venture into one only to forever be scarred, questioning ones own decency and standards.
Does ones mcm bible have to be re-written.
Is it love, lust or just a passing faze.
Am I missing something welfare bludgers and old people have known about for years.
How do I stop these emotions for something so fat and ugly.
Should I even try stop them and should I go to the doctor.
Damn he has one too.Aaaarrrgh!

HouseKebab, the Knoll sale...
HouseKebab, the Knoll sale is going on if you want to join me Thelma and Louise style and order a Womb. Lounge chair is one tough category. It was the last thing I had to get.
You don't realize it, but you got bit by the design bug too.

You know
Kebab already bought the ikea paing paong chair or something. He wanted a new, on the surface chair he could get right then, and put together out of the box with the provided allen wrench, and labeled bolts. Something that doesn't require a lot of knowledge of history, or depth to appreciate.
He's always been about cheesy modern style and disposable target knockoffs over original timeless design, and a superficial need to own a piece to impress someone rather than to understand and appreciate the artistic beauty of the creation, and the role it plays in history and around your home. He's about the right now for the cheapest price, and in 5 years that chair will probably be in the trash, replaced by the new ikea paing paong xl model.
He's proved it time and time again, and I highly doubt that he'll ever care about knoll or anything pertaining. I mean, he labeled Charles Eames as some dead guy. Do I need to say more?
*Edited to add that last statement. Just couldn't leave it out*
