Just want to stop back here...
Just want to stop back here too, and say that I have followed and enjoyed all the posts in this thread, especially the excellent posts/essays by dcwilson and glassartist. I believed momentarily that I could make a case for my Uncle Tupelo analogy, whitespike, but then realized quickly, with respect to the other posts, I didn't have it in me.
Small world
three blocks away from my house is Christ Lutheran Church, designed by Eliel Saarinen in 1949. In 1962, Eero designed the addition...in fact, it was the last building he built during his lifetime.
It's a beautiful church and if on the Registry of U.S. National Landmark buildings.
