The solid legs of my early DCM have a light dusting of rust in spots. What's the best method for removing the rust, then preventing it from returning?

light rust
If it's really just some light surface stuff, use Never Dull. It won't scratch it.

For REMOVAL,
I used chrome polish and the finest grade of steel wool (can never remember if it's 0000 or 00000) and it worked handsomely. Don't know about PREVENTION, will Never Dull PREVENT rust poach? Where do you buy Never Dull?

you
can get it here. (link)
It does contain Mineral Spirits ? Petroleum Hydrocarbon
Best to use it outside or just don't sniff it. http://www.nevrdull.com/MSDS.htm
Should work great on light rust.
I used Astonish on my exterior chrome chairs. They shouldn't be outside.
I have them stacked under the eaves but they did get a bit rusty.
The small needle pits remain but the rust 'bloom' is gone. Also good for
polishing the plastic parts. Doesn't scratch and great for chrome.
No fumes, kind to hands
Non-acidic, non-caustic http://www.amazon.com/s?ie=UTF8&search-alias=garden&field-brandtextbin=A...

i'm
also curious about prevention after the rust is removed. Especially on
something of value. A crystal clear or wax would be fine on my chairs that
have no great value, but on Brent's chair? Any thoughts?
