Hi, I am trying to identify the maker/age of my rosewood canoe bowl.
dimensions are: 24"L x 3-1/5" W x 1-3/4" H.
The edges are paper-thin. Yes, i know it has a nick at one end.
Anybody recognize this?
Thanks! David

That's a beauty. Without a mark or provenance I think it would be very hard to pinpoint a maker or date. I've got some primitive bowls that there's just no way to judge because the shape and technique had been in use for so long. It's not like picking up a Quistgaard for Dansk staved version of a canoe bowl.
Hope someone can help you out though. Good luck.

Thanks cubby01
Thanks cubby, I know- frustrating, no markings at all.
I know it's old, and the paper thin lip tells me it's not a new primitive piece.
Maybe someone here will have something similar.
Thanks,
David
