reprolover, those schmucks who buy original pieces are the ones supporting the hardworking designers that needs some respect and admiration from us. i would buy an authentic furniture simply because i know i have given credit to the artist who designed it and at the same time invested my money in some form of art/pieces that will never lose it's value. and with a clear conscience knowing i have not robbed the designer of anything by buying cheap knockoffs from china. the plycraft eames style lounge chairs aren't copies of the eames 670 but was inspired by it, they have redesigned the whole chair to make it more comfortable and affordable for the rest of us. i deeply admire designers, without them we'd be living in a dull boring world.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOhhhh! I;m afraid.....
as merv griffin would say. i dont want an old musty, chipped, needs a new cushion vintage tulip chair. i want a nice new knockoff for 200 smackers as opposed to, say, the 1210 DWR tries to pawn off. and those 4 that i just ordered -- no tax, free shipping, NICE!!! -- will sit around my beautiful knockoff tulip table that i bought oh maybe 5-6 years ago at nuovo melodrome on greene street in soho, nyc for, what was it now?n $500-$600. It's beautiful, has held up 100 percent even though its used daily for breakfast, sometimes lunch, often dinner, laptop surfing, bill paying...not a chip, not a scratch as it sits in a pretty spectacular black granite, stainless steel kitchen. everyone's entitled, right? but i really do enjoy reading you guys and gals because i like the same thing, just dont like to shell out the do-re-me when i can buy a look-alike that will serve my real and aesthetic purpose. hey, it's just a table, but cool looking!

REPROLOVER, you started a thread asking about the quality of $175 knock off Saarinen Tulip chairs. Now, about 24 hrs. later, you have already placed an order for 4 knock off Tulip chairs?!
Thanks for wasting our time. You definitely have a good chance of winning the 'wanker of the week' award.
Maybe you have a point
REPROLOVER, you may be a trendsetter. Perhaps one day in the future these "interpretations" of modern designs might even be highly collectable. I mean, at these prices you can't loose... and they sure look like quality products.
You can even shop by "designer" so you are sure to save on your favorite modern classics.

If this were a private club
back in the dark ages, the jews wouldn't be let in. it seems like a private club though since the reproduction lovers arent allowed in. what a pretentious, provincial bunch most of you are who have responded to me, sitting there at home with your prized little pieces of furniture. this has been a funny exchange. i'm going to make some popcorn and watch the rest of the show, while seated on my knock off eames chair. LOL!!!

REPOMAN, this is far from a private club. It is just that some of us have no idea why you would even bother posting on this forum. Given your attitude to cheap knock offs, this is clearly not the proper forum for you.
Although, you are welcome to continue posting, I have a feeling you might enjoy asking about your $10 'Rolex' on a watch collectors forum. I am sure that they will give you an equally warm reception.
